Fabulous Vintage Style

Today I'd like to share with you some fabulous vintage fashion picks from my daughter's Etsy shop, Reds Threads Vintage.
Her shop has a large selection of vintage clothing and accessories that are carefully hand picked just for you.
You will find a wide range of sizes, styles and colors.
Right now, she is featuring plaids for Fall.
Take a minute to check out all the wonderful things she has available.

How about this beautiful red party dress?
I just love it!
And these sweet vintage crocheted earrings.
Anyone planning a costume party for the upcoming Halloween season?
This Poodle Skirt would be just perfect.
There are so many lovely items to choose from.
I hope you find something HERE that's just right for you.

Thanks for looking.

Sunday's Flea Market Finds

This summer has been filled with flea market adventures for me.
My sweet husband has found a passion for pocket watches which means we now go treasure hunting together almost every weekend.
I've been gathering junk (treasures) for my art projects and home decor, and stock piling them for the long winter months ahead (like a squirrel gathering nuts).

Yesterday I hit the mother load!
Here are just a few of the amazing things I found.

This huge pile of wire baskets will be used for holding lace, ribbon and bits of fabric.
I like to be able to see what I have to work with and these baskets are great for that purpose.

The red wooden box will be for holding tools in my studio and the large wicker basket will be for yarn.

This deer skull has just the right amount of creepiness for one of my art projects.

The sectioned wooden box in the first photo will be for displaying some of my small treasures.

This sweet French sign is going in my kitchen today.

I found so many fabulous trinkets yesterday and will be posting photos of the rest of my finds soon.
I found some wonderful things to share with friends as well.

Have you been treasure hunting lately?
I'd love to see your finds.
Have a wonderful week everyone.

First the Bees Then The Birds

I haven't been taking many photos lately, but I had to get some of the sunflowers.  At present the bees are enjoying them, but before long they will be seed for the birds.
I've always thought of sunflowers as being "Happy Flowers".
They're so bright and cheerful looking.

This one is already bowing it's head to Fall.

Other than a few herbs and some tomatoes, this is all that is left of my summer garden.
I'm already planning what next years garden will have.

Have a beautiful weekend everyone!

Natures Bling

This caught my eye this morning as I walked out onto the deck.

Thanks for stopping by!

August is a nesting month for me.
Cleaning, organizing, and preparing for the long, cold months ahead.
It feels like Fall here already, with temps in the 40's last night.
Anyway, while working in my kitchen, I noticed that there are quite a few birds nesting there as well.

There's this chippy, vintage, ceramic chicken.
It has a hook on the bottom for hanging towels or pot holders.

There's also this cute little ceramic pie bird.
I don't bake many pies, but it looks cute sitting on the shelf.

Here's another chicken.

And another.

And a sweet little bird.

No wonder I feel like nesting.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Is anybody else nesting?

A Little Paint & Some Hard Work

I've been wanting to paint this old dining room furniture for over a year and I finally did it.
I'd forgotten how much work and time is involved in such a project.
It's not perfect and there are a few details left to finish, but after 4 days of sanding and painting, it's getting there and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Now, if I only had the rest of my house in order...
