A Visit From Mr. Bear and Some Flea Market finds

Mr. Bear was right outside my kitchen door a few days ago.
It's been a long time since I saw him last and I was a little startled to see him so close to the house.
Not very good photos. By the time I found my camera he was almost out of sight.
I must say that it was nice to see him again, although I wouldn't want him to visit often.

Braved the heat on Sunday and went to the Flea Market with my man.
After all, it was Father's Day, so I thought I would do my best to get through it.
Picked up a few pieces of pottery while I was there. A sweet shaker for my kelp granules.
The yellow bowl is my favorite. I don't see yellow pots very often.
Couldn't pass up this pretty brass trinket box either.

Vintage Prom Gowns

Faded, vintage, prom gowns used as accessories for home decor is such a fun way to add some soft color to a room. Most times they are quite pricey, but I was lucky enough to find these for only $10 each.
I think this white one may have been a wedding gown.
They add a little romance to my dressing area.
I found the pink ballet slippers for only $10 as well.
Old millenary flowers are one of my favorite things to collect.
Delicate layers of sheer fabric.
So girly.
 Tiny dots.
Pretty colors
I love my romantic little corner.

Fall Flea Market Finds

I love Flea Markets in the Fall. We start out early Sunday morning when the air is crisp and cool. Armed with coffee and our picker bags, we're out the door by 7a.m.
The grass is still wet with dew as we make our way through the field, where row after row of cars are already parked. This is our favorite thing to do on the 3rd Sunday of each month from May thru October.

It didn't take long for me to find a few things that I just couldn't live without.

The flea markets here in Pennsylvania will be coming to a close soon.
I'll miss the thrill of the hunt over the long winter months.

Thanks for stopping in!

Steam Junk

A primitive necklace made from found objects.
The harmonica is my favorite and it really works.
I'm pretty sure I'm never gonna wear this, but it was kinda fun to make.
Each piece represents some place I've been with my husband.
Lots of weekends browsing flea markets and antique shops together.
Fun memories.

Handmade Romance

As promised, I made more of the little tart tin magnets.
Inspired by a love story.
Romantic as tattered lace.
Sparkling like bits of vintage bling.
Drawn to each other.
Clinging.
So beautiful.

Weekend Flea Market

I saw this little elephant at the flea market over the weekend and instead of my usual thing where I tell myself, "Oh, don't buy that. You can make it yourself", I bought it.
Don't know why, but I just had to have it.
 And this awesome strawberry pincushion.
 And these lovely tassels.

Oh dear...I think it's time to donate a few boxes of stuff again.
It's getting crowded in here.

Vintage Love

Flea Market Season is upon us here in PA.
That is a good thing because my husband and I love junkin and a bad thing because we already have so much stuff.  Our weekends usually involve some sort of pickin, whether it's a flea market, garage sale, thrift or antique shop. It is a rare occasion that we make it home without at least some little trinket or other.
I'm loving small vintage  ceramics lately.
I had a hard time controlling myself when I found these old wooden Asian shoes.
I have a small corner devoted to my collection of vintage Asian treasures and these were such a great find. I just had to have them.
This sweet puppy lost his mate and has a booboo eye. I had to rescue him before it was too late.
This befuddled looking cat reminded me of myself most days.
This vintage fry pan is such a happy color with the sweetest designs.
It ALMOST makes me want to cook something ; )

I hope all you pickers and junkers out there are finding lots of sweet treasures that make you happy too.
