Darling Husband

My darling husband knew I've been looking for a vintage church that plays Silent Night.
One of my favorite decorations from my Grandmother's house.

It brings back so many Christmas memories from my childhood.
Thank you Tom for making every day like Christmas.
I love you.

Felting Wool

I'm playing with some pretty wool today in between loads of laundry.
I'm hoping to end up with some cool, fiber jewelry.

I'll let you know how everything turned out in a day or two, after they are dry.

See ya soon.

Finishing Touches & A Sweet Little Christmas Lamb

It finally stopped raining long enough for me to gather some pine for the finishing touches on my holiday decor.
I love the smell of fresh pine and it was a much needed break to be able to have a bit of outdoor time, gathering branches. I even found a downed branch with a small nest still clinging to it.

There are pine branches tucked in everywhere.

I found some beautiful moss to tuck in here and there too.

Maybe next year this mantel will have a real fireplace to go with it, but for this year it makes a nice place to hold more pine.

I wish I would have gotten a real tree.
Next year for sure.

Some more decor.

I think I may have taken too many photos today.
It was a nice distraction from cleaning.

These next photos are of a lamb that I crocheted recently.

And last, but not least, there's Jack sporting his new scarf that I made for him.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Gone Fishing

What do you do when your husband's gone fishing?
I buy myself roses.
That's right, I bought myself roses and decorated the loft just for me.
A dozen of pretty pink roses.

I made a space where I could sit and read a good book or take a nap or just sit and relax with a cup of tea.
I hope you all take time out for yourselves this Holiday Season.
Take time to pamper yourself and rest a little.
Step back and take a look at all the things you do to make everyone else's holiday special, and remember that you are special too.
Thanks for stopping by.
Love and hugs to all of you.

Holiday Welcome

Outside my kitchen is a place to sit and enjoy the outdoors.
I try to make it feel welcoming and change it as the seasons change.
There is a beautiful view of the pond and the forest that surrounds my home.
I've added some festive pillows and warm blankets to the benches for keeping you warm and cozy.
Candles, bows and pine branches give a feeling of Christmas.

My dear husband thinks of everything and has placed an outdoor heater here as well.
If you're in the area, I'd love to have you stop in for a cup of hot cocoa and some cookies.
I hope you are all having a warm and cozy holiday season.
Thanks for visiting.
