Last Few Crochet Projects of 2009

I finished up a few of my projects that I have been working on. There is a necklace that resembles hippie hair, a valentine cowl, a thick cotton cowl in pecan and a warm gray scarf that I made for my brother.

Good News

The lung mass is benign, but still needs to be removed. I will think of this as a second chance, an opportunity to take care of myself and get healthy. I am overwhelmed by the love and support of my family, friends and coworkers.

Christmas Eve 2009

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year. My daughter Jamie took over and did all the baking and most of the cooking and cleaning. Everyone helped out. Thanks to my husband Tom and his girls too for helping.

Monster Monday

Went to the hospital again this morning for more blood work. Tomorrow morning is my lung biopsy.

I needed a distraction when I got home, so I sort of finished a monster doll I've been working on. She still needs a little stitching on her face for nostrils, lashes and brows. They are drawn on with a sharpie for now. She is sitting in my chair. The one where I watch tv and crochet.

Some New Things For My Etsy Shop

I finally finished a few projects I've been working on for my Etsy Shop. The orange cowl I made last winter, the blue scarf was made two weeks ago and the cuff is just a new idea I wanted to try

Crafting Bag

I found this crafting bag while I was shopping with my daughter. It seems like the perfect thing to carry all the supplies I need for a project on the go.

It's Snowing Here!!!

WOW!!! The kids got stranded in the snow on their way here from Tenn. last night and had to sleep in their car. They still haven't gotten here.

Took a short walk in the snow this afternoon.

My New Mittens

It's been so cold here lately. Last night I felt well enough to go out and do some shopping with my daughter. Since I've already finished my Christmas shopping, I bought these super soft comforting mittens for myself. They're like snuggly teddy bears for my hands.

Gifts From Friends and Coworkers

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and gifts. The past two weeks have been pretty frightening and I appreciate everyone's support. Here are some of the lovely gifts I've received.

Flowers From Anita and Brian

I received these beautiful flowers from Anita and Brian. While I was in the hospital I got roses from Tom and a pretty basket of mixed flowers from my mom and brothers. I gave them to the girl who was my room mate in the hospital because I got to go home and she had to stay. I hope she is doing well.

Lonely Little Holly Bush

I feel sorry for this lonely little Holly Bush. I planted it a few years ago and it hasn't really thrived much. This is the first time I've noticed that it has a few red berries on it.

PJs & Slippers In the Snow

It is 24 degrees outside today.

Holiday Treats

My daughter and I usually do the Christmas baking together. It's something that we both dread and look forward to. This year I am not well enough to help much. Jamie is determined to keep the tradition going. She is having a difficult time accepting that I am sick. I can tell that she is angry with me because nothing is "normal" now. Here are some of the yummy treats that Jamie made last night for the upcoming Christmas Eve with our family.

Under Construction

It's been 12 years since we started building our house. It seems like every Holiday season, we are under construction. This year Tom has just finished the trim around the windows in the living room.

Felted Wool Bowl

This is my first attempt at making a wool felted bowl. I got so carried away that I broke the needles in my felting pen. My husband is super!!! He picked up a new one for me in Pittsburgh yesterday and I ordered a lot of 50 needles on Ebay. This is so fun to do.

Easy Christmas Ornament

Last year I needed a few more ornaments for my tree, so I bought some clear glass balls and filled them with white feathers.

Crow Penny Rug

I found this old penny rug that I made years ago. It was my first attempt and I used a pattern.

Fishermen's Wool Scarf

I crocheted this big ribbed scarf with Fishermen's Wool. It is 100% pure virgin wool. It contains lanolin that makes it water resistant in cold damp weather. Remains wearable even when damp.

WELCOME

This is the main entry to my house. As you can see I'm not ready for the Holidays yet. I hope to have my decorating done next week. I still have shopping to do, haven't baked anything yet, I have gifts to wrap, cards to send, the house needs cleaned, the menu ................. Happy Holidays Everyone!!!
