A Little Thread Therapy

It's been quite a long time since I've made any new jewelry pieces.
Here are two new necklaces that will be available in my Etsy shop.
This first one I call Peaceful Moth.
It's an earthy piece made of recycled wool rope, cotton thread, and beautiful ceramic pieces from Spirited Earth.

The 2nd one is Pretty In Pink.
It's a combination of cotton gauze, wool rope, cotton crocheted freeform lace, metal and glass.

Thanks for stopping in.

Blooms

Blue Bells
We finally had a warm and sunny morning.
Jack and I went for a short walk to look at the flowers that are blooming or almost blooming.
We even brought a few inside with us.

Lilacs

Forsythia

More Forsythia

Daffodils

Apple Blossoms

I love this time of year.
I know Spring is finally here now.

Kitchen Stuff

Today I cleaned and organized my kitchen cupboards.
It's one of my least favorite things to do next to cooking.
I thought if I brought out the bread maker and the Kitchen Aid Mixer, it might inspire me to cook.
I disposed of 6 garbage bags of expired food items.
I know, shame on me.
Aside from needing to clean out the cupboards, I had to organize some of the clutter that my mother brought to my attention.
I've had so much spare time lately (not) that clutter has been the least of my worries, but you know how it is when your mother makes a helpful suggestion.
I put everything on hold and decluttered.

Actually, before I started, I went out to the garage to find one more thing to add to my kitchen clutter.
My husbands' parents had a little general store back in the 50's.
This scale was something that my husband salvaged from their store and I thought it would be nice to have it in our kitchen instead of in the garage where no one could appreciate it.

I found a couple of old metal milk crates out there as well and have my vintage, coal miners lunch box displayed in one of them.

The windowsill above my sink seems to be a catch all for odds and ends, so I did some cleaning there too.

Well, it's getting late and I still need to clean the floor.
Mother is coming tomorrow.

Have a restfull evening all.

Looking For The Bright Side

Sometimes when everything is falling apart around you,
you can fix it and make everything okay.
Sometimes you just can't.

Spring Flowers

No matter how awful things may be...life goes on...the seasons change...flowers bloom.

My Serenity

Far from the crowds and chaos is my little piece of heaven.
I can't think of any place I'd rather be.
Birds singing, deer grazing, and ducks swimming in the creek.
I even saw a painted turtle today, sunning himself on a rock by the pond.
I'm just content to be.
Home.

My serenity.

Have a peaceful weekend everyone!

Serenity

This beautiful gift from my friend Sharon, came in the mail yesterday.
It was perfect timing.
I hung it on the wall and read it each time I walk by.
Speaking of gifts...
Here's what my wonderful husband brought home for me last week.

If you look in the mirror, you can see Jack.
I just put fresh linens on the bed and he's enjoying a little rest there.

On my new antique vanity, I've displayed some of my fancy glass jars and bottles.

I'm hoping that today I'll find my SERENITY in the midst of life's chaos.
Have a nice day.
