Life Is What You Make It
Someone once told me, "Life is what you make it".
Today as I was gathering these dusty dried hydrangeas to dispose of them, they crumbled and made a mess.
At first I was irritated that I had made another mess to clean up.
But instead of going for the broom, I grabbed my camera.
Things just look different when you're looking at them through a lens.
The mess eventually made it into the trash, but I'm glad I took a better look first.
I'm doing my best to see the messes in life as if I were looking at them through the lens of my camera.
Sometimes things aren't as bad as they first appear and sometimes they are.
All we can do is try our best to make life as good as it can be.
Sending good thoughts your way.

Healing
For the past several years I've been struggling with a multitude of health issues, with the last 9 months being exceptionally tough. I've hidden out and kept to myself as much as possible because, let's face it, nobody wants to hear a complainer. When you're sick it takes over every aspect of your life. It's exhausting even for those who love you and uncomfortable for everyone else, so that being said, I'm concentrating on healing and moving forward. I'm putting myself out there again and trying to make the best of a bad situation. Picking up a camera again seemed like a good distraction and a logical place to begin.

Appreciating a morning on the porch.
Thankful for the simple things.

Endless Mountain Fiber Fest 2016
On my way up to Maine last month, I made a quick stop at the "Endless Mountain Fiber Fest".
I was greeted at the very first barn by this cute guy.
There were so many talented, creative women there, showing off their wares.
So much fiber!
Loved all the sweet critters.
Picked up a few supplies, but most of all gathered some much needed inspiration.
