Abandoned Antiques Rescued

This past week my husband was given the opportunity to rescue some antiques from an old farmhouse that was scheduled to be demolished. It had been abandoned still filled with all of it's contents over 30 years ago. For three evenings my dear husband dug through the mess rescuing as many pieces of furniture that he could before Thursday. You know what I'll be doing for the next few weeks.

As you can see, I have a lot of work ahead of me.

He found this antique crazy quilt tucked away in an old trunk.
It's one of the prettiest  I've ever seen.

The base of the quilt was made from old flour or sugar sacks and there is no back.
What a sweet work of art.

I've already started cleaning and painting two large hutches that will provide some awesome storage for my table linens, silver and china.

Of course I'll be sharing after photos of everything as I complete them.
Have a nice weekend everyone!
I'll be cleaning, purging, and painting.
