A Small Bunch Of Lavender

Not much energy to keep up with my gardening this year, but the lavender is doing well despite the neglect.
It grows right next to my porch and I had to gather a bunch for drying.
Such a soft, beautiful fragrance.
Another type of lavender growing in a pot on the porch.
 Feels like summer.

Simple Lavender Sachets

I DO LOVE LAVENDER
Always have…….
Once or twice a year I make lavender sachets and stash them everywhere.
I always make enough for friends and family too.
So simple to make.

I need to remember to put a few of these in the car.
The fabric is all reclaimed cottons.
Stamped a little bird on some of them.

I buy my lavender for making sachets at www.atlanticspice.com
I do grow some of my own too, but none of my plants made it through last winter, so I had to start over again this year.
Simple handmade joy!
Thanks for looking!

Recycled Doily Sachets

If you ask me, nothing smells better than lavender.
I always keep a supply of French lavender buds on hand for making sachets.
These were all made from vintage linen doilies.
I picked these vintage doilies up at an estate sale for 3/$1.00.

These are about 10 and 12 inches in diameter and hold quite a lot of lavender.

These small sachets were made from thrifted doilies.

They are about 3 inches in diameter.

Each sachet holds one tablespoon of lavender.
I purchased all of them for just 29 cents.

They are adorned with tiny vintage flowers.

Jack likes the smell of lavender too, and fresh bed linens, and hamburgers and bacon and......

What's your favorite fragrance?

Treasures & Lavender Sachets

I almost overlooked this sweet little bird when I found him at the local thrift shop.
He had been neglected for who knows how long and was covered in cobwebs and dust.
A little tender loving care and a lot of soap and water, brought him back to life.
I saw this antique paper clip in an old Victoria magazine a while back and just fell in love with it, so when I came across this one in an antique shop, I just had to have it.

A box of lavender sachet pillows that I'm working on.
I include one with each purchase from my vintage Etsy shop.
Speaking of that, don't forget to check out the CLEARANCE section of RECONSIDERED.
I'm adding lots of new goodies as well.
Lots of pretty things for sprucing up your home for Spring, some recycled, handmade items and even a few antique toys and tools.
There's something there for everyone.

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Heaven Scent

Yesterday, I worked on some lavender sachets for me, my Etsy shop and for gifts. I found some lovely old garments on one of my recent thrifting adventures, so I laundered them, cut them apart, and recycled the fabric. I purchased the cute little brass "hand made" charms from Etsy. The blue ribbon is from the Martha Stewart collection at Michael's and the brown ribbon is seam binding (love that stuff).
Today I plan to finish some recycled wool hearts that have a bit of embroidery and a bit of crochet added to them.
The fragrance from the lavender is just HEAVENLY!
