Felt Good

Hi!
I've been busy felting goodies for some upcoming craft events and for some gifts too.
I'm finally getting around to stringing a few of the beads I've made.

I added some wool beads to the tops of these hair sticks or shawl sticks.

A friend gifted me a purple pin cushion a couple of years ago and I just loved it, so I thought I'd give that a try too.

I've stitched together some envelopes from the sheets of felt I made a few weeks ago.

Then there's this...

It was my first attempt at a felted vessel and it was a complete failure however...

I refuse to waste wool so...
I added some stitching and a few ceramic beads and I love it.
Even the little wool pebbles were a failed attempt at sweater beads a couple of years ago. I knew I would use them for something. Although the felting part of this bowl didn't turn out well, I love the colors and textures. It reminds me of cotton candy.

So, don't throw away those pieces that don't turn out quite right.
You'll use them some day for something.
This is how hoarders are born : )
Hugs,
Karen Ann

Felting Crochet

I've been crafting like crazy these days, but find that I'm just not in the photographing mood.
My house is an explosion of crafting mess and I'm creating things every day, but it seems like it takes up too much time and energy to take pictures. That being said, this morning I made a half hearted attempt to get a few photos so I could share with you some of the projects I've been working on.
These are some bowls or baskets that I have crocheted with wool and then felted.

I've added some embroidery to some of them.

This little fuzzy one was made with handspun fiber that I purchased from a local  farm.
I love the extra fuzziness of this one.
It reminds me of a bird's nest.

I'm working on a variety of coasters as well. Here is an example of one.

I still have some finishing touches to add to these.

I've made some felted bags and hats too, but haven't gotten pictures yet.
I even have one of the hats boxed up and ready to ship to a friend without being photographed first.
I guess I'd rather be crafting.

See ya soon.

Felted Pebbles

I've been playing around with some felting lately.
I borrowed this idea from my dear friend Lisa over at Lil Fish Studios.
This is my 2nd attempt at felting rocks and I think I almost have it right.

They're still a bit too fuzzy, but thanks to some tips from Lisa, I'm pretty sure the next ones will be much better.

See ya soon.
