Fiber and Bone

I've been gone for such a long time.
Hibernating as I usually do during the winter months.
I've read a few books and spent some time searching Pinterest for something to spark my creativity.
I'm keeping it simple and organic.
Using materials that I already have and trying not to add to the hoard of stuff that seems to have taken over a few areas of our home.
Fiber and Bone is a simple little necklace that I made to wear with  some of my favorite Spring linen pieces.
The base is made up of two layers of tightly woven gray burlap.
I found the bone beads a couple of years ago at a local flea market.
The cord is hand spun nettle connected with an antler button.

Freshening Up The Porch

Fall is in the air.
Mornings and evenings her in PA are chilly,  just the way I like it.
Brought home a few potted mums to ease myself into the change of seasons.
Wrapped them up in some leftover burlap scraps and jute.
The little tray was made from recycled wood.
Put together a simple wreath for my porch as well.
Such a sweet old owl made up of natural bits and pieces.
Filled an apple basket with a tattered tablecloth and some hydrangeas from my yard.
New project for the other porch.
Found this fabulous old rocker at "The Nomadic Trading Co." here in Punxsutawney last week.
Perfect for my porch!
Also purchased this amazing old tub there.
Not sure what we're going to do with it, but my husband just had to have it.
We're thinking of attaching it to the wall and adding some shelves for storing towels and bath supplies.
Or maybe use it as a large planter for flowers.
I'm going to have to think about this one for a while.
Any ideas?

Rosemary Candles

This is a super simple way to dress up some dollar store candles for the Holidays.
I wrapped mine in burlap and then tied little sprigs of rosemary onto them.
You could wrap them in fabric, paper or just about anything you have on hand and embellish them any way you like. I'm into the "simple is best" mode at the moment. All that fuss and glitter from last weekends projects just didn't feel right.
I spent just $1.00 each for the candles.
The rosemary is from my garden and smells just wonderful.

Burlap Curtains & Sweet Annie

Fall is in the air.
The crisp white kitchen curtains that danced in the summer breeze have been laundered and packed away for next year. In their place are hand made ones that I've fashioned from recycled coffee bean sacks. They give the room a warm Fall feeling and go well with the pumpkins and Sweet Annie that have taken the place of summer's lavender.

Texture

Burlap has such a wonderful texture.
These are the centers for some crocheted flowers I'm making.
White burlap that I tinted blue and did a blanket stitch around them.
Petals or ruffles will be added later.

Thanks for looking.
Have a beautiful Sunday.
