Repurposed Parachute
I know…I know…it looks like a big jellyfish beside my chair, but it's really a parachute turned lampshade.
It looks and feels like cotton.
From what I could find online, it would have been used by the military for dropping flairs or small objects.
It fits nicely over the vintage lamp shade frame that I've been storing forever for something special.
And sits perfectly atop the floor lamp in my living room.

Something Unusual
When I'm browsing the tables at a flea market or garage sale I'm always drawn to the abnormal or unusual. This morning as we were out and about we made a quick stop at one of the many garage sales that were going on this weekend. My unusual find is a small ceramic piece.
Just something cool for looking at.

A Thrifting We Will Go
Yesterday I made a quick trip to our local GW Store.
I hadn't been there in ages, so I was anxious to see what I could find.
Lucky me!
I found this amazing little Chinese Pagoda Lamp.
It's made of some sort of metal and is very heavy.
I also found a Jackson China platter for my daughter's collection and two wool jackets for next winter (new with the store tags still attached).
Even luckier…I had a half off card and got everything for next to nothing.
Glad I stopped in for a look see.

What's Been Happening?
Seems like I've been gone forever.
Been crazy busy here.
Spent some time spinning.
My first attempt at spinning locks.
My first attempt at spinning locks.
Learned to dye wool.
Had a week of fun in Maine.
Not sure what the "NOT ART" was about, but I thought it was kind of interesting.
Maine is such an "ARTSY" place.
I'm always inspired when we visit there.
Since I've been back, gardening has taken up most of my time.
My lilacs are beautiful this year and smell heavenly.
Playing catch up with chores and walking the dog.
Some quiet time brushing the cat.
It's good to be back.
Looking forward to seeing what you all have been up to.
