Wooden Push Pins

Our Walmart here in Punxsutawney doesn't have much.
Just simple basic things.
They took out the craft department a couple of years ago, so if I want to buy something crafty, I have to drive to Dubois or Indiana. Both a 45 minute drive from here.
I guess that's the price you pay for living in the woods.
Today I was excited to find wooden push pins for my inspiration board.
(It doesn't take much to excite me these days)

If you took the time to read this post, I'm sure you're thinking "this woman needs to get out more" and you would be right, because that's exactly what I'm thinking to myself as I am typing this.

Anything exciting at your Walmart?
Probably not.
Have a great day!

Papers On My Desk Today

Handmade Tag and Gift Box
Made by Andrea .
Andrea has some really sweet prints for sale in her Etsy Shop.

Doodles For My Journal
More Doodles

I really did make my own pajamas.
They don't really look like this though.

Do you doodle too?

Feathered Friends

At the bird feeder outside my kitchen window are so many cute little birds.

I love watching them and so do these guys.
They're watching the feeders for their next meal too and they don't eat seeds.

Wishing you a calm and peaceful day.

Laundry Day

The past month or so has been a bit hectic around here.
Not the holiday kind of hectic, but the family illness kind of hectic.
The countless trips to Pittsburgh and back have been exhausting.
I'm sure you've all been there at one time or another.
Even if you aren't the one with the illness, it's exhausting just the same.

I'm happy to say that after a month in the hospital, Mother is back home recovering from her heart surgery.

I've found that it's very difficult to feel creative when there are stressful events happening, but I need to create almost as much as I need to breathe. I know this probably sounds crazy to some, but I also know that there are others out there who feel the same.

Yesterday was yet another trip to Pittsburgh.
This time for my husband.

I've never been more happy just to be home doing the laundry.

I hope you are all enjoying your day too!

BLUE

Blue is such a calming color.
I love this little trinket jar.
It was made by my stepdaughter Anita as a gift to my husband.
Great job Anita!
We love it!

I picked up this lovely blue woven textile piece at a thrift shop in Maine last year.
It's old, has great texture, and I love this shade of blue.

Blue denim will always be one of my favorite things.
I've started a crazy quilt made from some reclaimed jeans.
And practice samples for some textile jewelry.
How do you fight off the winter blues?
Keeping busy with creative projects works for me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Decor Pics

It's been a while since I've had time to post anything new.
A family crisis or two, with the holidays thrown in and there hasn't been much time for anything else.
Since I'm having a quiet evening, I thought I might share a few photos of our Christmas decor.

Okay, so maybe there are more than a few.
Hope you all had a very merry Christmas.
