Thank You
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to Linda, from itsy-bits-and-pieces.blogspot.com.
I was lucky enough to be the winner of her recent Halloween give away.
Love this paper owl!
And these sweet flash cards that spell out HALLOWEEN, as well as the pretty orange ribbon that they're hanging from.
How about this pumpkin seed pack!

And this cute vintage cupcake decoration.
This is just a portion of the generous packet of goodies that Linda sent.
Thank you so much Linda!
It was the bright spot in my week!

A Handful Of Acorns
ACORNS
Making felt acorns is something I do each Fall.
Most years the acorn caps I find from the oak trees here are kind of small.
This year I found some huge ones.
I've made hundreds of these things and given them all away.
These ones I think I'll keep for myself.
Keeping it simple as always.

Crocheted Vessel
Autumn always sparks my desire to grab a hook and some of my hand spun wool and do something creative.
This was crocheted in a simple spiral pattern.
No counting stitches, just doing.
Enjoying the idea that I spin my own yarn.
Created my own beads by stitching some fabric scraps around some small wooden spools.
Vessel was made by doing a single crochet over hemp cord.

Playing With Paper
Every now and then I get the urge to play with paper.
Like most crafters, even if you don't do scrap booking, you probably have an ample supply of pretty paper. Here are a couple of ideas I found on Pinterest that are a fun way to put some of that paper to use.
So, last week while enjoying a quiet afternoon with a friend, we played with paper.
We made some pretty Fall branches.
I also have an over abundance of old sheet music.
I think these simple paper feathers will make lovely embellishments for wrapping packages.
It's so hard for me to just sit around without keeping my hands busy doing something.
You can find instructions for making both of these projects and tons of other paper crafts on Pinterest.
Keeping it simple and staying busy.

Gathering
Yesterday was a bit chilly here in PA.
It really felt like Fall.
I went for a short walk around the edges of the woods and gathered a basket of wild rose hips.
Once the thorns are removed they are lovely for decorating with.
I gathered the very last of the lavender from my garden, which didn't amount to much.
There was one pretty blue hydrangea left, so I brought it inside so I can enjoy looking at it.
Took a moment to have a look at the water hyacinths in the pond.
I'm always amazed at how two or three little plants can multiply into hundreds by summer's end.
I noticed that there are a lot of apples on the tree for the deer to enjoy.
It was so nice to be out in the fresh air for a while.
Taking in the very last of Summer and the beginnings of Fall.
Slowing down and settling in.
